Montpelier BioBlitz 2018: Calling all Naturalists!

Break out your binoculars and bug nets for Montpelier BioBlitz 2018: a citywide nature celebration and a quest to catalog every form of life within Montpelier’s boundaries. We’re recruiting naturalist and biologists from across the Northeast (and beyond) for what will be no ordinary BioBlitz. Our field site, the City of Montpelier, is hardly urban and features an array of woodland and wetland natural communities. We have been gathering a flock of experts in bats, butterflies, plant galls, and leaf miners. But we are still seeking biologists and naturalists to help with a wide array of organisms.

If you’d like to get involved, please head over to BioBlitzMontpelier.org and check out the “For Biologists” page for a list of taxon leaders and taxa in need of leaders. Please reach out directly to taxon leaders whose groups you’d like to join, or contact us (montpelierbioblitz@gmail.com) to sign up to lead an unclaimed taxon and check out our BioBlitz iNaturalist page!

This event is a cross-city collaboration of North Branch Nature Center, the City of Montpelier, and the Montpelier Conservation Commission.

Thank you, and we hope you will BioBlitz with us this July 21st and 22nd.

Staff Naturalist, BioBlitz Coordinator
