Former longtime Georgian and short-term Michigander. Primary interests are birds, odonates and snakes. Moved to New Mexico in 2019 and loving exploring the Land of Enchantment. I have been interested in exploring the natural world for as long as I can remember with grandparents and parents who took me out in nature at a young age and instilled the importance of conservation in me, but these interests took off when I became a birder together with my dad around 2003 after being gifted Roger Torey Peterson's CD-ROM computer North American birds program. Trips down the road in rural Georgia to look for birds to add to my lifelist turned into trips across the country to search for birds and other creatures. Witnessing significant fallout as an early birder on a spring trip to Dauphin Island and Ft. Morgan Alabama on the Gulf Coast and getting to hold a recently banded Rose-breasted Grosbeak had me hooked on birding for life. I'm a co-compiler of New Mexico's NAB regional reports. I’ve been keeping a lifelist and birding since 2003, but I was introduced to ebird and started birding much more seriously in 2010 after attending Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine—a life-changing experience. Lover of all things nature and being in the mountains. I lifelist fish caught hook and line, as well as snakes and odonates and will add other things to inat when able or they catch my eye. Favorite bird species since childhood: Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Other personal favorite species: Montezuma Quail, Pinyon Jay, and Prothonotary Warbler.
