Working for the Queensland government in far north Queensland for over 25 years on threatened species , I was lucky enough to have experience with everything from frogs through freshwater turtles to marine turtles and inshore dolphins. Currently my particular interest is in the conservation of marine and freshwater environments generally and specifically marine protected area management, fish (particularly sharks and rays) , fisheries, freshwater and marine turtles and marine mammals.

Having recently rediscovered the scuba diving bug after a 20 year absence I find myself enjoying being able to do something useful with my blurry fish and other marine creature photos. I am also enjoying the opportunity provided by iNaturalist to use and improve my freshwater turtle id skills.
