Armadillos in Virginia?

I recently read a July 2022 article on Armadillos being Spotted in Southwest Virginia. Though I haven't seen any myself, the article states the Animal has been spotted in the counties of Montgomery, Pulaski, and Russell. The Animal's Range currently is in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee with no reported range within VA, but the article also shows a Photo taken in Pulaski County of the Animal.
All this information comes courtesy of Nancy Moncrief from the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville and Seth Thompson and Michael Fries of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, who have been keeping track of this slow-moving armadillo invasion.

Opossum Abundance

I know it varies from month to month, but the Virginia Opossum has had a noticeable abundant population near my family's farm. I've noticed they've been drinking my cat's water and have been using the outbuildings as makeshift homes. I usually relocate them to the nearby forest, but certain times they seem to comeback. The wetness/rainfall of the area of my home also must be a factor.
