Had to crawl over hot river stones to get near this flock, and then they flew away before I could get close enough for a good photo...
They were tiny, about twice the size of a Sparrow.

Suspect I came across 4-5 individuals scattered along edge of the extensive areas of Raupo near Harts Creek. None heard booming at this stage.

Went for a look at the Godwits this afternoon.
Lurking in amongst them was a couple of Red Knot (Lesser Knot).
The first bird is losing it's breading plumage, looks quite neat.
