The spring ephemerals are long gone, but for the curious observer there is still plenty of interesting plant life to record for iNaturalist Vermont, a project of the Vermont Atlas of Life. Whether it's a late blossom, interesting foliage or seeds or fruit for future years - you can still get out and enjoy green plants. To celebrate our wonderful plants and your observations, Sue Elliot, July's winner, chose 6 wonderful photo-observations from August for all of us to select the grand prize August winner. Please comment indicating the number of your favorite shot.

Ooh, hard. I vote for 3. Such a weird plant, it looks like a ribbony wedding decoration. I'm not gonna vote for my own photo but that was a really neat spot along the lake.
2. Wicked hard vote, but love that flower.

2. Both for the photo and the flower, which brings back many memories of happy times in a canoe.
1. So simple, yet so lovely.
