Remarkable hike to the higher elevations of Mead Ranch today. Besides the amazing diversity of blooming wildflowers, many of highly restricted range, the rough trail through rocky chaparral and vernal pools led to rewarding distant views of Mount Diablo, Napa Valley, Mount Tam, Tudor Mountain and Buzzards Peak. Special thanks to Jake Ruygt, Napa Land Trust and the Napa Chapter of the California Native Plant Society for access to the property today. Publication of many of the species seen here to follow on iNaturalist within the next 24 hours.
