Hello, I'm a NJ-based botanist. I work in the public sector as a GIS Specialist. I've carried out plant and wildlife surveys in my time and practice ethical propagation of natives. In my spare time, I botanize and love to seek out herps as well.
I like to record as many species as I can but I don't make a sport out of it. Rather, I want to understand the ecosystem as a whole. I love seeing plants and wildlife within their context, surrounded by the species which comprise the ecosystem. There is much to be learned by observing the communities as a whole. New Jersey is an important place and needs the utmost protection and respect of the naturalists who love it.
I enjoy the overlooked plants, especially of Asteraceae; Symphyotrichum and Eupatorium are some of my favorite genera.
