I enjoy being out in and observing nature near my home in Katy, Texas during the cooler months of the year. In the heat of the summer I escape to Estes Park, Colorado where I lead hikes for the YMCA of the Rockies.

I have a Ph.D. in physical sciences - though not in life sciences. Currently, I'm enjoying studying and learning as much as I can about birds, wildflowers and butterflies along the Texas gulf coast and also in the Rocky Mountains.

I prefer getting good photographs of natural subjects rather than keeping lists of species observed. I aim to add observations showing the diversity in any one general location and also the frequency of any particular species.

I always appreciate feedback/corrections/suggestions on my observations.
