Avid naturalist for 60+ years. Main interests are birds, grasses, sedges, butterflies, Odonates, mammals, and herps. B.S. from WVU in Wildlife Management; M.S. from LSU in Wildlife; Ph.D. from LSU in Wildlife and Fisheries Management with minor in Botany. Former member of Louisiana and Missouri Bird Records Committees. Former Vice President and President of the Missouri Native Plant Society. Former Vice Chair and Chair of the Hawk Migration Association of NA. Retired as Endangered Species Biologist from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in MO (28 years). Have taught bird, grass, sedge, and Odonate identification courses for over 40 years. Currently an instructor at the Highlands Biological Station in Highlands, NC where I teach Grasses of the Southern Appalachians. Avid nature photographer, deer hunter, morel hunter, fisherman. Enjoy searching for rare grasses and sedges. Ordained minister at United Community Cathedral in Columbia, Missouri.
