I am a Alentejano-Sonian field naturalist. Since 2007, during my free time, I have been taking care of an area of Montado (Oak savannah) located at the heart of the PTZPE0056 Special Protection Area devoted to steppe birds (Little Bustard, Black-bellied Sandgrouse,...). There, I mix biodiversity protection and regenerative ag. practices.

And my Alentejano blog (2013-20): http://cebolasdocampinho.blogspot.com/

I am especially fond of Wool Carder Bees, Velvet Ants, Cuckoo Wasps, Leucospid Wasps, Hoverflies, Mantids, Clearwing Moths, Ant-like Beetles, Tortoise Beetles, Jewel Beetles, Jumping Spiders, Palp-footed Spiders and Pseudoscorpions.

The things that I'm currently curious about include:

  • The diversity of Ziziphus pollinators in Southern Europe
  • The invertebrates living behind Punica granatum bark scales
  • The fauna of small temporary Alentejano ponds
