Today was the Feminist Bird Club's Big Day! I went to Sand Bluff Bird Observatory to get some banding in. Then I made a stop at Nygren Wetlands to see some waterfowl, and finished off the 10 hour birding day at home. In total I saw over 50 species, the most being at Sand Bluff. The weather was sunny and around 80 degrees. I birded in Rockton and Rockford IL. The habitats varied from location to location, with some being woodland, lake, and prairie. Overall, it was a great day for a very worthy cause. I would definitely join in with this event again next year!
