Heard alarm notes from bird. Finally got binocs on it and we
even matched the alarm call to Merlin.
Salton Drive was right on the edge of the recent freezing morning weather. We hit 32F on the morning of 11/1 but were slightly warmer the last two nights. Nonetheless, the chilly weather clearly had a major impact on insect diversity on the sheet. This morning there were only about 10 moths and no other insects--no bugs, no beetles, no lacewings, no caddisflies.
