Salton Drive was right on the edge of the recent freezing morning weather. We hit 32F on the morning of 11/1 but were slightly warmer the last two nights. Nonetheless, the chilly weather clearly had a major impact on insect diversity on the sheet. This morning there were only about 10 moths and no other insects--no bugs, no beetles, no lacewings, no caddisflies.

Nonetheless, the chilly weather clearly had a major impact on insect diversity on the sheet. This morning there were only about 10 moths and no other insects--no bugs, no beetles, no lacewings, no caddisflies. The present species was the only one present in numbers; about 8 were on the sheet.
