The seed heads are very soft, not spiky like coneflower. The plant had no leaves, just a brown stem and the seed heads. Maybe about 2-3 ft tall.
Surprised by this male BTBW in my feeder area at 7:16am.
They would dive down and then preen and splash water on their backs. Sorry for the bad quality photos.
