Found over 50 stems in a recently logged area. All were found in a low area. It appears that they just recently sprouted. Only 23 were flowering or fruiting, the rest were juveniles. I believe next year will see a huge increase in population.
Soil was saturated and some stems were growing in the water.
Associated species included cinnamon fern, Carex intumescens, red maple, white pine, white oak, and for the first time Carex folliculata.
