In heath at c. 4 years post-fire. Not a typical heath resident and quite stunted, but flowering and fruiting. I photographed it at much the same spot on 22/9/23, at which time it was budding and just coming into flower. This year a week later it has nearly finished flowering.
A light scatter of these seen in the heath. At nearly 4 years post-fire the sedges and shrubs are well recovered and there isn't a lot of room for orchids any more. Plus the spring has been a bit dry to date.
Just the one plant seen. At nearly 4 years post-fire the sedges and shrubs are well recovered and there isn't a lot of room for orchids any more. Plus the spring has been a bit dry to date.
