Tiny hatchling found on forest path on way to field site for other research. Most likely Eastern Box (Terrapene c.c.) based on location and frequency of adult sightings on same path. Wondering if anyone can confirm though
Ecosystem: Cedar Glades
(Dead/Shell Only)
Adult. 3-4in long.
Small salamander found in a swiftly flowing woodland creek.
Not sure what kind of salamander this is but someone on Birding in Indiana suggested I upload these images taken at Wabashiki Fish and Wlidlife Area in West Terre Haute, IN USA. Turns out it is a Eastern Lesser Siren.
2nd Eastern Lesser Siren at this location in past 3 months. This Heron must think they are yummy!
