There are many in my kitchen, invariably ending up drowned in some soaking container. There had been a couple instances where they orbited around my face, behaving very much as an eye gnat does—though I reckon that the Liohippelates genus (as I think almost all Chloropidae family) has its eographical distribution within the Americas, specially in the North—persistently hovering towards the eyes, unwavered by non-incapacitating hand swats.
