This raccoon walked in circles for over an hour while I was at this location. Its circle wasn't always perfect but it never strayed further than ~10 yards from the same location. Clearly not grooming itself, apparently no awareness of myself or the nearby ducks, and would occasionally absentmindedly step off the ice and into the water. It stepped off the ice briefly when I was observing it closer, but when I was further away I observed it swimming a bit before returning to shore. Likely won't be alive much longer.

This raccoon has been sitting in the same spot for 3 days. It is still alive. I think it has distemper. For clarification: this observation is for the virus, not the raccoon
In the final stage of canine distemper - non-responsive and seizing. Succumbed about 20min after this photo was taken; animal control was en route but little dude was a goner either way. Raccoon Obs here: https://inaturalist.ca/observations/15629951
Unusual behavior, this individual continually approached us (4 adults) during out visit despite our repeated efforts to persuade it to leave. After a while, it began walking circles around a small shed, repeatedly going around and around.
Duplicated this observation per curator request so it could also be used for the virus. I did not know there were observations for viruses, interesting.
The original narrative:
Greater sunset bay area. This raccoon had distemper, was out in broad daylight on a jogging path. Not showing fear of people, bikes or dogs. Looked normal other than aimless until it had little seizures. This photo and 1 that I'll add are during seizures. I'll add one more looking normal. I did call 311 and reported it and it was picked up.
