It was interesting to see how docile and calm this one was in such close proximity to foot traffic above on the boardwalk. Final 3 shots are from behind on the viewing platform dock. Beaver heading to its lodge with a fresh cut Willow branch to feed on with its growing pups. I was new to the area in 1997 but I found time every afternoon to visit the Carson Creek riparian area which was just full of wildlife, even though it was in the middle of the relatively undeveloped El Dorado Hills Business Park. I am still observing Beaver in the Creek 25 years later ........

North American subspecies of Bohemian waxwing with a greyer body than the warmer hued European nominate. This individual was part of a large flock feasting on some crab apples at the time along with some AMROs.
