Tarneit islands population appears to have been significantly damaged by the recent floods. First specimen I’ve found today has been swept over and it’s formerly healthy progeny are dead.
Further inspection proves that there are multiple individuals in the vicinity but counting them is difficult due to flood debris.
Would like to say rostriformis given location but the phyllodes are less rostriform, larger, and the pods are glabrous with “pustules” present. This is the Werribee typical variety of verniciflua.
Old plant, oldest in vicinity. Previously observed by russelbest. I’ve come to check and it appears that the plant is doing exceptionally well compared to the others.
There appear to only be the same two plants that Russel previously observed.
