Baitfish were trapped on the top layer of a thick mat of sargassum. The seabirds were easily picking them off. One fish is visible in this picture.
Possibly same bird seen the day before on the Jetty opposite Government Cut to this one. It groomed itself and then went fishing on both sides of this. jetty.
iNatuarlist gave me the Eunice genus. Very long worm found in old, rotten sargassum that was nearly beached. Pieces of dried-out worm in dried sargassum was found nearby.
The flipper in the 2nd picture is 20 inches long.

After Hurricane Irma / Red Tide, the sargassum was floating in completely devoid of life. This is the first year since, that I've found creatures in most of the weed floating in. Last year, we had a shortened season due to covid lockdowns, so I don't know how populated the weed was.
