This is an intact nest we found in the middle of the estuary. A pied avocet was circling us (and screaming. Loudly.) while we were close to it, so maybe these could be its babies?
We also saw northern lapwings in the same general area; but there's also a large nesting grounds of other unidentified seabirds on the other shore of the estuary, so all I can do is guess. I'm not exactly a bird expert anyway.
(I did make photos of the birds that were circling us, but I'm not equipped for bird photography, so there's like 100x100 pixels of any given bird visible on them. It's too awkward to share, lol.)
