I was distracted by a flyover AMPI as soon as I saw this bird and quickly lost it. From the remote lot, this bird was flushing pigeons over the football stadium nearly a half mile away. Not sure what more I can supply to get this confirmed other than the already added picture showing proportions and the comments of several qualified hawk counters. I'll add even more of those comments below. Comments from Rockfish Gap Hawk Counter, Gabriel Mapel: "100% ruling out a hefty COHA from these pics might be rough but I think the somewhat pointed wings, bulging secondaries, really broad tail, and small head is all perfect for NOGO."
Lindsey Day: "To me, the shape of the “hands” is indicative of Northern Goshawk. I can see how this bird has a Falcon-like shape, but the narrow hands look like a Northern Goshawk to me."
Others in agreement include Shane Brown, Gail Bruckner, and Mike Borle.
This was of course never confirmed on eBird. Checklist here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S74941983
