Magnificent fallen white pine in the woods behind our yard. Based on the size of the tree it was around 140 years old or so when it fell, and based on rot it fell around 60 years ago. This tree likely germinated prior to land clearing during the sheep craze and was left as a property border, growing in the open until the pasture was abandoned in the mid to late 1800's.
