very interesting little spiders. they build their small webs on the dorsal side of leaves that have a slight concave shape (in this area usually Clermontia spp. but sometimes on ginger) and hang upside down in the web. Have only seen these in mesic forest of lower Waikamoi and upper Makawao Forest Reserve.

Really on the fence about this one. Multiple barn funnel weavers have been found in this unit. But some traits here point to Eratigena agrestis. The abdominal pattern looks suspicious, as well as the shape & size of the palp. The sternum is confusing, I can’t really make out for sure if there is spots or not, even under a loupe, but it doesn’t seem like it! Missing one palp, maybe it had tried to mate with one of the Tegenaria females😅

Less than 1mm. Part of a colony found on a wooden post. They moved away from too-bright flashlight beams, probably disliking the heat. The other individuals from the colony can be found here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?on=2023-02-16&place_id=39&taxon_id=152965&user_id=the_knower
