Swift-moving spider by the cabin door, thought at first it must be a fly since it was moving like it was on wings. No idea what, Adanson's had one dark brown picture that matched the shape well.

Life or paint? Saw on one other tree too, I think this has to be paint. On the other hand I seem to have seen similar weird paintlike things in stranger places and concluded it is life. Kai haapa, mäntymäinen runko.

Clusters of orange-brown millimeter-wide dots at the base of a recentlyish-cut pine in wet environment. Insect eggs, wilted saplings of moss, or fungus/lichen of some sort?
The second picture is of the same cluster 13 days later when the log has been more dry.
