16 mm nose to rear when straight. Found in a small sample of soil dug from our yard with a garden trowel.

10 mm long (nose to body rear). I found it in a small bit of soil that I dug from our yard today. This centipede was flailing its head around most of the time that I was trying to photograph it.

5 mm nose to body rear when straight. Found while digging dandelions from our front yard. This was in the soil attached to one of the dandelions.

48-50 pairs of legs. Found under a log.

There were several specimens with that pale-purple coloration, under bark of dead tree.
