Saw this sink bug climbing a tree while out for lunch Friday
Looks like shell of Birds-Nest Fungus, without the little ones inside. bigger than what I am used to seeing. Texture a bit papery, leathery to tough not overly thick. No obvious scent other than a bit earthy. Base appears to have mycelium with soil remnant roots. Found on woodland floor grassy area, bark strips, rocks and soil, near eucalyptus spp trees like River Gums, E. camaldulensis.
