When I suddenly stood in front of a hypericum tree, my heart jumped an extra beat and I jumped towards it in awe to make sure I did not hallucinate! This plant is close to 3 meters tall and is not only endangered due to it’s endemism and very limited range but must be of the largest of all hypericums on Earth.

The plant is huge, and so is the flower, but it’s far between each tree, so I wonder how the reproduction is and how the goats are affecting it. They don’t seem to like the smaller hypericum species, but I did not see any small specimens of this species.

Achlorophyllous plant on right.

Green sprig is Mitchella repens, I think: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/20384470.

I'm guessing fungus is Ramaria concolor (stricta): https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/20372396.
