Descripción

These two specimens were spotted from my vehicle and relocated off the sandy road. Note the two central occipital horns, pale middorsal stripe, and dark lines radiating from the eyes to the lip. These two were engaged in mating ritual, as evident by the smaller male gasping the female's occipital horn. These lizards are truly remarkable. Aside from consuming harvester ants, they will also eat blister beetles and velvet ants.
