On rock submerged in fast-flowing moorland stream. Stems about 6cm. Leaves up to 3mm long. Have double nerves.
On gritstone rocks in upland oak wood with Dicranum scoparium. Leaves about 7mm long.
Placeholder - I think one of the dung / dead animal species ?
Growing out of a joint between pieces of granite in a 14 foot tall wall. Wall faces east, getting strong morning light off Lake Michigan; no direct light in afternoon. Water sources other than rainfall include 1) seepage from parking lot (to the west of the wall) via cracks in the granite wall; 2) spray from storm waves; 3) the rare lake fog
Here are two more observation on adjacent walls at the same site, same day:

Could be F. microphylla but shoots weren't examined closely.
Was found in two crevices few metres apart.
Recorded as part of the 2022 spring BBS field meeting.
On bare soil of old ant hill in grassland on the side of limestone dale. Shoots about 5mm long, leaves up to 4mm long. Leaf blade narrows fairly low down and the majority of the leaf consists of nerve. Photo 3 might be a dwarf male branch.
Advice welcome but seems to fit this species. Leaves weakly bordered, narrow mid leaf cells, rhizoids brown, tubers brown and pyriform with large surfical cells only 1-3 cells wide.
Covering large areas of gritstone rocks in small moorland stream. Leaves about 2mm wide and length slightly shorter. Cells containing a few oil bodies. I can't see convex folds on the back edges of the leaves as in Solenostoma obovata.
Growing on imported Carboniferous limestone boulder washed with water from the New River conduit. Microscopically this keys out at F. taxifolius - unbordered with excurrent nerve
Spores are approximately 5x20 microns. On Diplophyllum
On bare mud in interwoven patches (not rosettes). Terrestrial, not aquatic
On limestone rock along track in mixed upland woodland. Upper leaves 3mm long.
Sycamore epiphyte. Shoots about 1cm long, leaves up to 3mm long.
On loose chalky / flinty soil at quarry cliff base. Margin variously revolute. Vivid green. Hair points various but green/green-white. Cells papillose. NOT T. vahliana as I first thought!
Growing in soil on limestone rock wall ledge. Many leaves have been partially eaten. Capsule 1mm long with oblique calyptra and narrow mouth. Seta 4mm long. Leaves up to 2mm with inrolled margins.

On limestone rocks on track. Shoots about 1cm long. Leaves up to 0.5mm long.

On bare chalk quarry floor.
On overflow steps of reservoir. Stems 3cm long. Leaves 2mm long, concave with traces of secondary spurs. Upper leaves finely toothed.
On very crumbling shale ledge. Feels soft. Leaves up to 4.5mm including long white hairpoints. I think there is longitudinal crimping at top of leaves - hard to get air bubbles off to see properly.
Bryoscyphus phascoides
