Growing on a hardwood stick. Cap hygrophanous. Stem base bluing. Pleurocystidia with rounded or indistinct hooks. All microscopic photos were from a gill section mounted in phloxine (1 drop), congo red (1 drop) and NH4OH (2 drops).
Growing on a hardwood log. Stipe bruising blue. Pleuocystidia metuloid and horned. Cheilocystidia saccate. Spores smooth. Spore measurements: (6.4) 6.7 – 7.7 (8.3) × (4.4) 4.6 – 5.6 (5.7) µm, Q = (1.2) 1.3 – 1.5 (1.6); N = 30, Me = 7.1 × 5.1 µm; Qe = 1.4
Growing on grass along bike path. Jet black spore print. Blue bruising on base of stem. Looks like P. cintulus to me, but could be some other species.
