Sitting on a favorite rock with a nest somewhere nearby and just yards from the house.

Hunting in the yard. Giving chase daily to Red-winged Blackbirds. Perched here in a Magnolia tree.

In a field where the Canada Geese are nesting and probably harvesting eggs.
A curiosity for me in these images is that foxes seem to be able to turn their ears from concave to convex.

Mating. Female was identified in previous observation.

Morning visitor. February 28th. Someone from my past with expectations and reassurances, both.

Black-tipped tail (photo 3) that's about 1/3 its overall body length and small, rounded ears.

Watching and waiting for its mate - arriving in the my observation.

Observation #5900 Preening female seemed completely unconcerned with having her photo taken. A tagged bird, I couldn't read the numbers on her right leg.

Hopping between branches low in the orchard.

Fresh apples.

Sitting in the morning sun, she suddenly turned and flew - disappearing into the woods giving chase to a Blue Jay.

Fast. Short-legged. Weasel-sized. Hunting along the banks of the brook among the boulders and fallen trees.

When I put feed out, maybe seven dozen birds come right in. None came this morning - just a lone Dove sitting in the tree. It took me almost 10 minutes to realize it wasn't a Dove.

This hawk was chasing a Raven.

Red-tailed Hawk and a pair of territorial Ravens.
