I just turned down a random road and what luck! (Luck plus slowing down and looking at every Asclepias tuberosa on the side of the road.)

On Quercus virginiana bark (landscaping trees); Outer lobes consistently 1.5-1.75 mm wide

On red-group oak bark; cortex UV+ orange; spores 2/ascus, ornamented with ridges

i think this one will be a fungus observation in a few days...

Alarmed my dog in our yard, so I netted it and brought it over to the creek to avoid injury to either party.

Found in the open in turkey oak scrubland, very xeric sand. Feeding on a noctuid larva. I have been searching for this spider for 15 years+ in GA... and this is my first one.
