My friend John Michalski and I discovered this species in June 1983 at this location. It turned out to be a NJ state record. That discovery inspired us both to pursue research into Odonata which continues to this day. I was happy to re-visit this site and find the species still extent.

About 1.5ft tall.

Found at the edge of a mostly freshwater, but near to a brackish marsh, in a couple inches of standing water.

Very low elevation, less than a few hundred feet from salt marsh.
