This taxon was observed on the rocky limestone slopes of periodic Hill Country stream 5 years ago. At that time only a two or three plants observed. Five years later in a wet year, this taxon is abundant at the same site and has spread downslope.

The six petals on this tiny flower are green with a wide white border. It has 6 stamens around the outer edge of the flower tube, with 3 additional ones arising from closer to the pistil. The style & stigma are cream-colored; the style has three long filaments. The base of the petals is yellow, giving the center if the flower a golden glow.
The plant has a tall flowering stem (3 feet) that leans a bit off vertical. The basal leaves are up to 3 inches long, stiff and coarse, and grey from a pubescence. The leaves on the long flower stalk are much smaller, less than 1 inch.
