Yes I know now, gloves..wear gloves but these fell out of a neighbor's patio umbrella in 2020 and they fell on to the ground so I drove there to rig up a cardboard box with towels in it. Cut a hole on the bottom and closed them up in there with the hole facing down and had it about 7 feet high up. Wasn't quite sure what to do other than that. They were super shy and I didn't have any gloves so I picked them up one by one and put them in the towel (white pics are the white towel that I made whiter with exposure) she said the next morning they were gone so we hope they flew out when it got dark. Anyways, not sure if they're big brown bats or not but that's what I chose

Cap/upper_surface: Largest fruitbody ca. 15” across composed of multiple brackets; brackests, ca 1 cm think when young, becoming ca 5mm thick when mature; radial wrinkling; concentric zones of browns with light margin when dry, deep maroon-brown when wet; guttation fluid present in earlier stages of growth; surface has sheen when dry.
Cap/underside: Light colored (2.5cm) margin becoming gray and then brown at center; pores angular, 3-4/mm, brown with light tips at surface; bruising brown; context tough; setal hyphae not present

Fort Gordon
Columbia County, GA

This bird was identified by wildlife biologists at Fort Gordon who were banding red-cockaded woodpecker nestlings. I observed the banding of the birds by the biologists.
