I went to lock the door of my shed and heard a strange noise as I closed the door. I looked up and realized I had accidentally closed the door on this poor bird. I thought I had killed it, but it flew away after I opened the door as if nothing ever happened.

Viewed from the basement window. Deerald seems to have decided this was a great place to snooze overnight. It couldn't see me, so I managed to get a few great shots of just how much I need to wash these windows.

Is it a fish? Is it a slug? Is it a fishy anemone? I do not have a clue what this is!

It is about 30mm long and there were a few of them in the sand - outgoing tide nearly on the turn. Most were buried and only the "fan fin" was showing.

Resting on the wet sand, when the sand collapsed it arched it's face upwards (2nd and third photos) and seem to spawn capsule from somewhere - there are 2 floating in the 4th pic.

Totally hypnotic, by the time my sister-in-law and I carried on the brother had walked 2kms away from us!

The first time I had ever seen this, i videoed the entire event as well from entry to exit. It was as if this species swims all the time. I sent it to a frogmouth expert and she had never seen that before. The bird chose to swim and flew away very easily after its swim. There appeared to be no explanation for the bird swimming as it was not particularly hot or anything unusual.

One of the 2 is fake - guess which one.

Solution for all who are still wondering: The plastic rattle snake has been put in the entrance of the camp kitchen as a deterrent against the local troop of Malbrouck Monkeys, which used to raid the stored food, and surprisingly they never ever entered the kitchen since then.

This skink, however, equipped with astounding cognitive abilities, shows off with his balls of steel.

Identified based on tail length (92 mm), dark skin surrounding eye, bicolored tail hairs, blunt tail tip, narrowed tail base, orangey pelage, docile behavior.
