This project is to document all of the organisms that call a mid-sized apartment complex and is small backyard home. 1502 Alice is located in downtown Oakland, California, USA. It was built in 1910. In 1915 Charlie Chaplin filmed a movie in the building. The backyard goes through boom and bust cycles depending on whether or not a current tenant is excited about gardening. We've had composting in the backyard since 2004 and then has definitely kept a lively community of insects and their predators coming to the yard.
