Hello there, my name is Simone Luccini and I'm Naturalist! I work in naturalistic survey and monitoring projects. I also work as an environmental hiking guide because I believe in sharing knowledge and the beauty of the natural world with as many people as possible. I see this as essential for effective nature conservation, echoing the words of my childhood hero: "Conservation through exciting education!"
I live in Lunigiana, a charming hilly region in central-north Italy, surrounded by the Apennine mountains, the Apuan Alps, and the Ligurian Sea.
My passion for Herpetology began in childhood and led me to study at the University of Pisa (UNIPI), where I completed my bachelor's thesis on the ecology of Podarcis lizards and continued with a master degree thesis on the ecology of the dice snake (Natrix tessellata). However, my fascination extends to the entire natural world.
I'm a member of Lipu (BirdLifeInternational Italy) and recently helped establish a local delegation, "Lipu Lunigiana."
My journey with iNaturalist began as a game but through the years i realized how important and usefull instruments it could be in nature conservation help!
