Honestly, I'm still nervous! I wish wish wish that the Flora of North America had a good key for these, but alas, I guess we have to wait for that.
I'll take the risk. This is a ridiculous situation that should have been sorted out five years ago. It is clear that whatever else may be the case taxonomically, these two names are unambiguously referring to the same species.
