I am a retired science and medical writer who worked 25 years for the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. I graduated from Oregon State University with an MS in zoology. I grew up fascinated with insects that broadened to encompass all things invertebrate, especially intertidal invertebrates. Intertidal invertebrates are rare in Ohio, so I focus now on plants and fungi and insects. I also volunteer with the nonprofit Better Healthcare for Africa, which has taken me to northern Zimbabwe nearly each year, and I would like to identify plants that I encounter there.
