I am a biologist at molecular level, but before I had become scientist, I was a birdwatcher from 12 in Hungary (Tamas=Thomas). And I never gave it up since then .... I am interested in improving identifications, that is why took up Inaturalist, also sharing observations with my love, Zsuzsa and our son, Gabor in the meantime. As a scientist I worked with lots of species in different countries starting from E.coli and other bacteria and mitochondrial DNA, Lambda phage, Ceanorhabditis elegans, Neurospora crassa, Aspergillus, yeasts, rats, even animal cell and human cell lines and oocytes.Recently I concentrate on birding and I am an eBird HotSpot Editor.
Favourite birds: Branta, seaducks and goosander, Cormorants and Pelicans, Albatrosses and Petrels, Owls and Nightjars, Swifts, Sandpipers and Plovers, Dotterels and Phalaropes, Wheatears and Pipits, Dipper, Snow bunting, Shore Lark, Corvidae
