I am a lifelong resident of Sitka, AK who enjoys observing everything around me. I'm not an expert but I'm definitely enjoying the process of learning more. I also have been commercial fishing since childhood which has allowed me expand my observation area above and below the ocean.
I created a FB group "Unusual Marine Life of Alaska back in March 2017. It was formed to entice people to share their observations, get help with IDs and more. I think there is a relatively untapped resource of information out there that could help everyone become more aware of the changes going on in the environment. That resource could be fishermen, boaters, or anyone else who takes notice of things in the marine environment and elsewhere.
