Originally from Columbus, Ohio. Currently a PhD student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I’m interested in fungal systematics and evolution. My research focuses on the families Porotheleaceae, Cyphellaceae, and allied taxa.

In 2017, I founded the Ohio Mycoflora Project as part of the North American Mycoflora Project, now known as FunDiS. This was an effort to document the fungal diversity of Ohio through DNA barcoding. This work continues, mostly through Kyle Canan's Ohio Mushroom DNA Lab (OMDL).

Observations of Ohio fungi with DNA sequence data are cataloged here on iNaturalist. An equivalent list for Mushroom Observer is available here.

I mainly use iNaturalist to back up my observations from Mushroom Observer.
