I am retired. I've loved nature all my life. I got a Bachelors Degree in Biology/Geology from Marietta College, Ohio. The first half of my career was as a Petroleum Geologist with Equitable Gas in Pittsburg, then Gulf Oil in Houston. The second half I was a regulator in Groundwater Protection with the Louisiana Dept of Environmental Quality. I love photographing the little things: insects, flowers. I have raised caterpillars all my life, and share them with school classes. I have presented many slide programs to Master Gardeners, Garden Club, school children. We live on 50 acres in Deep East Texas and this place is a butterfly factory. It is half ungrazed pasture and half mixed woodlands. I focus on planting nectar and host plants.
