I've recently completed naturalist training through the American River Conservancy and the University of California. I'm a retired attorney with the State of California, Department of Conservation. As a DOC lawyer, I practiced both administrative and environmental law. My clients included the State Geologist and his division, California Geological Survey; the Office of Mine Reclamation, with regulatory responsibilities related to surface mining and abandoned mines; the Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources, with regulatory oversight of oil and gas drilling, injection wells and production facilities; and the Division of Land Resource Protection, responsible for agricultural land conservation and preservation of open space.
