I am a biologist / plant and soil ecologist from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario and now British Columbia, where I have lived since 2011. I completed my Masters work in plant & soil community ecology in the subarctic and boreal regions of Canada, while dabbling in limnology and fishes of freshwater ecosystems of the Canadian Shield in northern Ontario. After paddling the lakes and plodding the muskeg of Ontario, to observing the interconnection of terrestrial species assemblages and abiotic landscape characteristics, I now use the ocean waters, rivers, and streams of BC as my conduits for terrestrial and intertidal observations in this diverse and dynamic province.
