I am a biologist by training, earning a MS and PhD in Population Biology and Population Genetics (U. Georgia) using as my test subject for both a beetle species endemic to the rock outcrops of Georgia, Collops georgianus. I also studied marine biology at both Woods Hole, MA, and Friday Harbor Labs, WA, and both studied and taught Tropical Biology in Costa Rica. All that said, I am just getting back to my roots in field biology after retiring from an unrelated field. My goal is to learn about and document the wildlife and plants in my own yard here in Madison, WI. I am very excited to be back to it and, particularly, to be learning about the bees in my backyard and nearby. I look forward to working with all the great people posting on iNaturalist.
